Motorola Starts CES with a Bang - ROKR E2 and iRadio Music Service
Via AllenTsai.com

Any doubts that Motorola wasn’t serious about music and mobility were put to rest today as it announced its iRadio music service and the much anticipated ROKR E2, the successor to the lackluster ROKR E1 iTunes Phone.
The Apple / Motorola pact seems to be dead, setting the ROKR E2 as a solo project integrating Motorola’s new iRadio service (no iTunes software):
Focusing on music and mobility, the ROKR E2 takes mobile music to the next level - with no wires. Through embedded Bluetooth technology, consumers can keep the ROKR E2 in their pockets while music is wireless streamed to compatible Bluetooth-enabled stereo headphones up to 30 feet away. When a call comes in, the music pauses, allowing users to talk, then resume listening where they left off.
Motorola iRadio is initially launching with 435 commercial-free radio channels, already one of the widest selections of subscription music entertainment available. The service’s unique delivery platform enables it to bring content portability together with acquisition and discovery of music. This creates a powerful new medium for artists and labels to directly connect with fans, and for wireless service providers to deepen relationships with subscribers.
While technically CES doesn’t start until Thursday, these new announcements should put any doubts to rest.
