Motorola MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone with Digital FM Transmitter announced

Motorola MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone

Motorola introduced last on Monday the MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone and Digital FM Transmitter, its first road-ready, music-oriented ROKR accessory and the latest addition to its portfolio of in-car solutions. With MOTOROKR T505 you can connect a Bluetooth enabled phone to the car sound system and enjoy hands-free calling and your favorite music in outstanding stereo sound.
The device clips to the overhead visor of a car and is designed to almost entirely avoid the need to reach for a cellphone while driving. In traditional mode, the T505 supports any handset with hands-free calling support and includes a microphone, an internal speaker, and vocalization of incoming caller ID. However, cellphones, and other devices that support Bluetooth’s A2DP profile can pair with the speakerphone to beam full stereo audio for music through to the car’s built-in FM stereo; a play/pause button lets users quickly stop tracks to begin a call of their own, while music is automatically frozen for incoming calls.

The Motorola MOTOROKR T505 is expected to become available in Q1 2008. Click here to visit the T505 official web page.

Motorola S9 connected with iPhone through iCombi A2DP adapter

Ok, I am not going to post again about the lack of support for the A2DP profile on the iPhone. Instead, I am posting about one more easy solution for the A2DP connection while the iPhone users are anxiously waiting for a software update to enable that specific profile.
Neither the Motorola S9 or the iCombi Bluetooth adapter are new on the market, but I found a nice video from YouTube showing how the Motorola S9 performs when connected with a iPhone through the iCombi A2DP adapter. As shown on the video, the bond seems to be very good, and you can still handle the phone calls. When using the iPod feature, the iPhone will stop playing the music and the call can be answered normally. After the conversation has ended, just hang up and the music will continue to play. Everything can be done using the buttons of the Motorola S9, so you do not need to touch the iPhone, if you want. If you want to get the iCombi Bluetooth Adapter for iPod/iPhone, click here. Thanks dwest218 for take the time and make this video.

Bang & Olufsen EarSet 2 Bluetooth Headset

Bang & Olufsen EarSet 2 Bluetooth Headset

Bang & Olufsen introduced the wireless Bluetooth headset EarSet 2. The device provides a superb comfort with an ergonomic design. The Bang & Olufsen EarSet 2 uses two omni-directional microphones placed 30mm apart along with digital signal processing, while the mics block out wind noise and filter external sounds.
The Bang & Olufsen EarSet 2 is constructed out of plastic and aluminum with a very light weight. The speech quality is enhanced by the air vents and a bass port for increased tonal precision. When the mic folds out the EarSet 2 turns on and when you fold the mic back up the EarSet 2 turns off to help you save battery life. The device charges and is stored in a container that serves as the charger. The EarSet 2 must be purchased based on the ear that you’ll be using it in. because it is not reversible. As usual, for the Bang & Olufsen products, it is not be a cheap bluetooth headset, selling for around $320-$350, and do not expect for price drops. As a Bang & Olufsen product’s lover, I wont mind to pay for it, if it performs well.

For more details, check the official product’s page from the Bang & Olufsen website.

Bluetooth-enabled devices shipments to hit 800 million

Bluetooth dongle

Another successful year for the Bluetooh wireless market. By the end of 2007, IMS - a market research company - forecast an increase of 40%, compared to 2006, shipping around 800 million Bluetooth-enabled devices.
IMS continues to forecast a big growth but raises caution flags regarding ultimate attach rates in the total cellular handset market. The growing demand for low-cost handsets in emerging markets will actively provide phones with only basic functionality and many handsets will probably not be Bluetooth-enabled.
The annual number of Bluetooth-enabled cellular handsets shipped is anticipated to surpass the 500 million unit mark for the first time ever in 2007.
Worldwide figures are still low for stereo headsets for a number of reasons including consumer acceptance, stereo headset design/price, and the fact that the other end of the equation (i.e. Bluetooth-enabled personal media players and A2DP-enabled phones) are yet to make a real impact on the market.
Once the three of these happen, and IMS Research definitely believes they will over the next 12 - 18 months, then we expect the stereo headset market to really take off. There is likely to be a big push at the end of 2007 and in 2008 but “considerable” worldwide volume won’t be reached until 2009 and beyond.

Acoustic Research ARWH1 stereo Bluetooth headset

Acoustic Research ARWH1 stereo bluetooth headset

Few months after the Lubix UBHS-PH2 Bluetooth headset became the world’s first device to ship with Qualcomm’s MEMS display tech, Acoustic Research ARWH1 headset became the first device with such a display to hit the market. The re-branded version of the Lubix UBHS-PH2, the Acoustic Research ARWH1, will hit the market by the end of this year.
The Acoustic Research ARWH1 is one of the industry’s first Bluetooth headsets capable of delivering visual information - such as caller ID, battery level and status alerts - as icons and text on the main screen. Through the use of Qualcomm’s MEMS display, users are able to see this information in virtually all viewing environments. The device includes a 3.5mm audio jack for use with any standard earphones, an attachable/detachable clip, and a five-way button for easy control of the headset. It is becoming very common to find GPS navigation devices with built-in Bluetooth technology. The Garmin Nuvi 760 is a good example. Motorola S9 Bluetooth stereo headphones video review

I’ve been testing the Motorola MOTOROKR S9 for a few months now, and I decided to check online what people are saying about it. In my opinion, the headset performs very well with very few downsides like the touch sensitive side control buttons that are not very easy to locate while using the headset and the lack of a little more bass. Even with the downsides, the S9 still one of my favorites Bluetooth gadgets right now. The volume and sound quality is really impressive. I have the S9 paired with a Motorola RIZR Z3, an i- mate JAQ4, an i- mate SPL and finally with an iPhone using a naviPlay Bluetooth adapter, reaching a high performance when connected to all devices listed. After a quick research, I found a very interesting video review made by the guys from Clipdash.com about the S9 and I decided to post it here. The reviewer shows relevant facts about the Motorola S9 giving us his opinions about it. To check the full spec of the Motorola S9, just visit the Motorola’s official website.

TDC Launches Long Range Bluetooth Module

TDC has launched a Bluetooth module with an open-field range of one kilometer from its internal antenna, the longest range of any Bluetooth module. The spectrum can be further extended by adding a high gain directional antenna.
The EZURiO BTM402 BISM II module from TDC is a fully qualified Bluetooth version 2.0 solution with a range of up to 1km, that gives developers a drop-in communications solution requiring minimal integration and no type approval. According to TDC, Bluetooth devices normally have a range of just 10m, rising to 300m for high performance modules. The new EZURiO module should definitely grant many new applications to benefit from the use of this stable and well-recognized standard.
